The Austin Association for the Education of Young Children (AAEYC) is a membership organization for early childhood professionals that works to promote high-quality, developmentally appropriate early childhood education in the Austin area. We the local affiliate of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). We offer a host of professional development, programs, and services to both members and non-members in order to strengthen the quality of early childhood education in our community. Founded in 1959, AAEYC is the older affiliate of NAEYC in Texas.
AAEYC promotes and advocates for high-quality early care and education on behalf of young children, birth to age 8, their families and early childhood professionals in diverse and inclusive partnership with others to create a caring community of learners.
All young children, birth to age 8, in central Texas thrive and learn in a community dedicated to ensuring they reach their full potential.
The work of AAEYC is guided by our strategic plan, which was created in 2016 with the goal of better serving the Austin area early childhood community. To read the strategic plan, click here.
